Latin Food for the Korean Seoul
We talk a lot about our love for Korean food and the best places to get our fix or how to make your favorite recipes at home. But with the rising influx of foreigners in South Korea in the last few years, it is no surprise there are more foreign foods being introduced in the country. If you’re in the mood to try something new or satisfy that taco craving while you’re in Seoul, we’re highlighting some pretty cool and authentic Latin-American restaurants in the city.
- Gusto Taco
Gusto Taco is a favorite among Koreans. This restaurant has all the Mexican favorites such as burritos, enchiladas, traditional Mexican beers, and of course tacos! This family owned-restaurant opened in 2010 and their hand-made tortillas are just one of the many signs of how authentic it is. Gusto Taco also offers vegetarian and vegan options to satisfy every need.

- Casa Latina
Casa Latina is a fairly new restaurant in Seoul, it opened this year, but it has become quite popular especially within the Hispanic population in the country. The owner is Ecuadorian-Korean but you’ll find dishes from all over South and Central America like the famous empanadas, Uruguayan steak which is breaded skirt steak filled with ham and cheese, and of course traditional Ecuadorian dishes such as menestra which consists of rice, beans, and a juicy grilled chicken.

- Miguel Style
At Miguel Style, you’ll find the very best of traditional Peruvian food in Seoul. Their extensive menu features classics like patagon, which is deep fried green plantains, arroz con pollo aka chicken and rice, and traditional desserts like crema volteada or cream custard. They even grow their own yellow peppers from Peru to give the food the most authentic flavor. Whether you’re new to the Peruvian food or a connoisseur, Miguel Style will definitely deliver.

- Tampa Sandwich Bar
This laid-back eatery brings the best of Tampa, Florida to Seoul with its different sandwiches. Their specialty? Tampa-style Cuban sandwich; a pressed sandwich with three different types of ham, cheese, and special sauce. It is definitely an experience worth having when in Seoul whether you’ve never tried it or are craving this popular sandwich.

- BONUS: La Habana restaurant in Jeju Island
If you’re ever in Jeju island, why not stop by La Habana restaurant? This restaurant offers all the Cuban classics like ropa vieja, beef empanadas, and picadillo among many others. They also offer cocktails such as the popular daiquiri, mojito, and the classic sangria. This restaurant is run by Koreans but it does an excellent job at making authentic Cuban food that would make any Cuban proud.
