Flowers and other forms of horticulture are truly stunning to look at, and so peaceful to be around, due to the beautiful eye-catching colours that stand out amongst one another in an array of different shades and tones. Not even just their colour, but their design is amazing from the way each flower looks so different and the petals grow in magnificent shapes. If that scene transports you to a world of peace, then Korea's got the right festival for you: The Lotus Festival!
This event spans across ten days from July 5-15 at Buyeo Seodong Park in Gungnamji, and has a variety of events on each day, allowing the attendees to experience something different every time they visit. Events range from performances every weekend in July, competitions, and crafts; so don’t worry, you’ll still get to do your sightseeing and have time to enjoy this festival!
Some of the crafts that can be found at this event are making paper lotus flowers, making lotus flower soap, lotus flower bracelet making and much more. So, not only will this be a beautiful and peaceful event for you and your loved ones and friends, but also a great event to take your kids to and have some creative fun!
Lanterns are lit in the evening and the bridges surrounding the pond are illuminated with lights that really add to the tranquillity that can be found at this festival. The performances that are displayed here all share the theme of representing the lotus flowers, and there are both opening and closing ceremonies that may have a display of fireworks.
If you’re looking for a tranquil festival that doesn’t require too much high energy, then feel free to give this event a visit.
