We all have our favorite puffy snacks that we enjoy from time to time. These snacks are a lighter, air-popped chip/cracker hybrid. Most countries have their own version of the puffed snacks. No matter where you are in the world these puffed treats range from savory to sweet. All countries have their specialty flavors, and today, we will be taking a look at South Korea’s puffy treats. Here are just a few showing the different flavors of puffy rice snacks!

Shrimp Snack

Although these may look like your average veggie straws, they are not. These are actually called puffed rice snacks that taste like shrimp! The seasoning used on the puffs is similar to that of tangy seasoning that is like black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and a few other ingredients. It really brings aids in the taste of the shrimp flavoring.  

Sindangdong Tteokbokki

Tteokbokki lovers rejoice! You can now get tteokbokki-flavored snacks. They taste almost exactly like the real thing, apart from them being rice puff instead of rice cakes. Spicy and too delicious to put down, Sindangdong Tteokbokki is the perfect treat to spice up your snack time!

Nongshim Sweet Potato Snack

While sweet potatoes are not a normal flavor to have in our snacks, the Korean version is actually sweeter than others of the genus called the bam goguma, or chestnut sweet potatoes. These potatoes are eaten as a snack, like the actual potato itself, not just as a flavor for crackers or chips. The Nongshim sweet potato snack, is one of the best snacks to get the perfect flavor of the potato, not too sweet, but just enough!

Crunchy rice rolls are a popular sweet treat for any time of day. These rod shaped, cylinders of puffed rice can be coated in flavors such as honey, strawberry, or banana. Easy for anyone who is on the go and needs a quick snack to fit in their bag. Plus, it is a great treat for when you are craving something delicious.

Injeolmi Rice Ball Snacks

Probably, one of the most well-known and popular snacks in Korea is the Azuki Bean Rice Ball Snacks, also known as injeolmi rice balls.  If you are into peanut butter, consider these like peanut butter puffs. The perfect delicious treat after a long day.
