Can You Handle The Spiciest Korean Ramyun?
"Delicious heat" is definitely a thing.

Koreans love their spicy foods, and they love their ramyun. Putting them together may not be the most healthy option, but it sure is a delicious combination! In our first ever AfreecaTV broadcast, we tried some of the spiciest ramyun in Korea, along with some of the spiciest Koreatown tteokbokki here in Los Angeles! Needless to say, most of us were suffering the next day, but it was worth it (kind of).

Without further ado, here are the top 10 spiciest ramyun from Korea, measured by Scoville heat units (SHU).
1. Teumsae Ramyun (틈새라면) 8,557 SHU 
This is THE spiciest ramyun out of Korea. When you drink of its soup and slurp up the noodles, you'll feel the deep, comforting burn within your soul. (Or Seoul, amirite?)
2. Habanero Ramyun (하바네로 라면) 5,930 SHU 
This one isn't available in the States yet, but we could only imagine ramyun with habanero would be pretty darn spicy.
3. Yeol Ramyun (Fever Ramyun) 5,013 SHU 
Koreans are pretty much masochistic with their ramyun choices. "This ramyun is so hot, it will give you a fever!" the packaging says...
4. Buldak Bokkeumyun (불닭볶음면) 4,404 SHU 
The original fire noodles with a chicken broth flavor. Since it's a soupless noodle, the sauce gets more concentrated and burns even more painfully!
5. Jinjja Jinjja Maepda (진짜진짜) 4,000 SHU 
The name translates to "Really, Really Spicy Ramyun." Hint hint?
6. Habanero Jjamppong (하바네로 짬뽕) 3,960 SHU 
Spicy seafood is a staple for Koreans. If the original Habanero Ramyun isn't your thing, you can always try the seafood version!
7. Namja Ramyun (남자라면) 3,037 SHU 
This ramyun is only for namjas (men) who can handle the heat! But from what we've seen, yeojas (women) can pack some spice, too!
8. Jjol Bibimyun (쫄비빔면) 2,769 SHU 
When the weather gets hot, Koreans love eating spicy foods to sweat it out even more! Bibimyun is a go-to dish in the summer -- the noodles are refreshingly cold, but the sauce helps you sweat out the stress from the heat!
9. Shin Ramyun (신라면) 2,700 SHU 
An absolute classic ramyun option. It's also the highest-selling ramyun in Korea. You can't go wrong with this one!
10. Bulnak Bokkeumyun (불낙볶음면) 2,588 SHU 
A not-so-distant cousin of the Buldak noodles, Bulnak features an octopus taste for another spicy seafood combination! Can't go wrong with this one, either!
