New Daebak Intern: Karena

Hello everyone! My name is Karena, and I’m from the Bay Area in the U.S. I am currently a student at UC Berkeley studying Economics and Data Science. 

My friends introduced me to K-Pop when the COVID lockdown began, and I quickly fell in love with the music and culture. Falling in love with groups such as Mamamoo and Dreamcatcher, I was quickly introduced to a wide array of unique groups and variety shows that kept me coming back for more. There was always something I hadn’t discovered, such as different foods to try and cultural experiences to learn.  

K-Pop has helped me develop my love for music and created a gateway for me to become much more interested in other aspects of K-Culture, from K-Beauty to Korean cinema. It helped me gain a more global perspective of the world and increased my appreciation for the differences of cultures. 

I immediately knew that I wanted to apply to intern at Daebak when I learned about the company and explored their website. It was a dream for me to be able to immerse myself further into the Korean experience and help others discover their own journey into this fantastic community. I am very excited to start, and I look forward to working with all the amazing people on the team!
