SEVENTEEN? Oh My! Who are they?!
One of the popular acts coming out of PLEDIS Entertainment is SEVENTEEN, a group that debuted in 2015 and had success with their song "Pretty U." Originally a team of seventeen, four former members did not make it past final debut lineup. The thirteen member group is made up of three units:
- Hip-Hop Team: Group leader S. Coups, Mingyu, Wonwoo, and Vernon
- Performance Team: Hoshi, Dino, Jun, and The8
- Vocal Team: Woozi, Seungkwan, DK, Joshua, and Jeonghan
Not only are their sub-units different, but the members themselves also come from various backgrounds: Korean, Chinese, and Korean-American.
SEVENTEEN is both humble and loving, and they live for their fans, which they call "Carats" because they keep the eyes of the group members shining. Carats from all across the word were left shaking with excitement during their first world tour, Diamond Edge, in 2017.
SEVENTEEN came out with their song "Oh My!" recently, which was successful. With their soothing vocals or synchronized dance moves, they have yet to disappoint. Numerous songs they've come out with have that same impact and feel on their fandom. Their latest single, "Getting Closer," was released on December 21.
Carats can see the group on V-LIVE, and also Instagram, on which a few members have accounts. They give consistent updates on what they are doing as individuals, and SEVENTEEN's official Instagram gives updates on them as a group.
