Go Back to School with This K-pop Playlist! 🍎

With back-to-school season quickly approaching, we are trying to find every opportunity to hold on to summer! Catch us blasting Red Velvet’s “Red Flavor” and EXO’s “Ko Ko Bop” while sipping on lemonade and eating popsicles.

Whether you’ve decided you’re ready to start falling back into the swing of things or you desperately need some motivation to just finish that summer reading, we have compiled a list of K-pop music videos with school themes! Refer back to these any time you need quick back-to-school outfit inspiration, a peppy song to wake up to on those way too early mornings, or something relaxing to listen to while working on homework!

IOI – “Very Very Very”

Exciting, colorful, and cute: “Very Very Very” by former girl group IOI is the perfect summer song to transition into the back-to-school season. IOI’s eleven talented members were brought together by the first season of Produce 101, and promoted for only one short year before going their separate ways. Fans were ecstatic to hear that they would be reuniting as nine in October 2019. We can’t wait to see what they have in store!

NCT Dream – My First and Last”

NCT Dream’s youthful and cute concept is all about the school vibes, especially considering the members still attend school themselves! The music video for “My First and Last” chronicles the story of an innocent first love and takes place in different areas of a school. We wish we could go to there, too!

CLC – “No Oh Oh”

Before CLC was shaking the world with their heavy-hitting girl crush releases, they were known for their cute and girly concept. “No Oh Oh” is a fun, upbeat, and extremely catchy song, perfect for hyping yourself up while getting ready early in the morning. We’re taking notes on their outfits in the music video for this back-to-school season!

GFRIEND – “Glass Bead”

GFRIEND has probably been seen in school uniforms more often than not, and we cannot get enough of their put-together and mesmerizing choreography. They make us actually look forward to wearing our uniforms every day, and their set design often features beautiful locations, such as the campus for Choong Ang Boys High School (seen in “Rough”) and Kyungbock High School (“Glass Bead”). Maybe this year their perfect dance moves will be enough motivation for us to try harder in gym class!

DAY6 – “What Can I Do”

As a part of DAY6’s Every DAY6 series, the band released a music video for their single “What Can I Do,” which follows a love triangle between a few of the members and one of their classmates. Filmed like a drama, this dreamy music video is fun to watch and definitely gets us excited to find our own school romance! Whether or not that happens, this song is perfect to rock out to while finishing up those summer assignments.

TWICE – “Signal”

A bit different from the others on this list, TWICE’s “Signal” music video features the nine members and... aliens? Yes, this is a bit off from what we might experience as everyday students, but it sure is fun to imagine having superpowers while sitting in math class! This song is definitely one to add to your morning playlists in order to beat that first-semester drag.

Akdong Musician – “200%”

A classic innocent love song from Akdong Musician, “200%” depicts a girl trying to get the attention of one of her classmates on the way home from school. We love the relaxed atmosphere of this music video, it is definitely easing some of the stress we feel from the upcoming school year! This is a wonderful song to listen to during school breaks to destress, or while working on homework. Definitely check out this music video if you’re looking for a heartwarming and uplifting story to distract you from your overdue history paper, but don’t tell them we told you!

We hope these music videos will help you get into the spirit of the back to school season! Do you have any tips for finding motivation to fend off post-summer sadness? Let us know in the comments below! Good luck this year and happy studying!
