Food Tour with Lee Sung Kyun 🥪

Ever wonder what your favorite K-celebs are eating lately? Look no further than their social media! The familiar faces we know and love from Korean entertainment occasionally turn to SNS to share photo-worthy foods, delivering a double helping of aesthetics and taste, and giving fans a closer look into what they’d most likely be found eating for lunch. Let’s take a trip through treats from Korea and beyond, and who knows? Maybe we’ll find our next spark of snackspiration!

Lee Sung Kyun is most well known for her roles as Baek In Ha in the drama Cheese in the Trap, and as Kim Bok Joo in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo. What could be less known, however, is her role as a resident foodie on Instagram! Sung Kyun has shared her meals with us for years, and we have finally compiled a list of her most mouth-watering posts.

Turkish Delight

Turkish Delight is a traditional Turkish confection made of a sweet gel and lots of sugar. It is often filled with some type of nuts such as pistachios, and it looks like Sung Kyun is enjoying the rose petal flavor. We are sure this beautiful treat tastes just as amazing as it looks!

Ham and Cheese, Greens, and Sweets: A Balanced Meal

If you ever struggle to get in your daily greens, look no further! Sung Kyun is no stranger to pairing health food with something a bit more delicious. Here, she pairs arugula with a ham and cheese sandwich and some fruit! What a wonderful way to get in some nutrients while not sacrificing the joy of carbs and cheese.

Seafood Pasta and Steak

Ah, two classic dishes for the everyday foodie: pasta and steak! Sung Kyun is a fan of seafood pasta—it looks like this one is topped with clams and a creamy sauce—while her steak is cooked to a perfect rare. She enjoyed these dishes with a side of veggies and grapes, and didn’t forget her glass of wine!

Pasta on Rue De Grenelle

The Rue De Grenelle is a bustling, historic street near Paris, France known for its fountains, sculptures, highly rated restaurants, and hotels. Sung Kyun had the pleasure of feasting at one of these restaurants during her stay in Grenelle, and it looks delicious! She enjoyed a baked cheesy pasta dish while her dinner partner opted for a yummy looking salad.

Burrata Salad

Burrata is an Italian variety of cheese similar to mozzarella, but with a much softer, creamier center. Here, Sung Kyun is digging into a Burrata salad, complete with strawberries, red onion, olives, a nutty dressing, and plenty of crispy bread on the side. Again, getting in your daily greens can be delicious after all!

Bokkeumbap

Korean fried rice is known as bokkeumbap (볶음밥) and is often mixed with egg, kimchi, veggies, and egg. Sung Kyun’s bokkeumbap looks to be mixed with onion and spam and topped with four fried eggs. This is the perfect late-night snack or dinner meal, as it has carbs and protein to fill up on after a long day! We’ll just start our diet tomorrow…

Honey Butter Chips

If you’ve been around in the Korean snack world in the past few years, then this is one trend you’re probably familiar with. Honey butter became a huge craze in Korea in 2014, and honey butter chips were absolutely a cult favorite. These chips were nearly impossible to get a hold of for the better part of 2014 and 2015, but thankfully, the novelty has worn off and they are now more accessible in convenience stores and online. Sung Kyun was able to take advantage of this and picked up a few bags to snack on. We definitely recommend this flavor if you have yet to try it!

Mango Bingsu

Summer is passing by far too quickly, and this post is making us wish we could start it all over again. Here, Sung Kyun enjoys a mango-flavored bingsu (빙수: shaved ice). This dish originated in Japan and is a sweet, condensed milk drenched bowl of refreshing goodness. It may look like a huge portion, but trust us when we say it is way too easy to quickly down this light and chilling dessert!

If any of these posts made your stomach grumble, you’re not alone! Comment down below your favorite Sung Kyun approved snacks-which ones are you dying to try!
