Boo! 5 Killer K-Dramas to Binge this Halloween Season

It’s the spooky season, fam! If you’re not looking to go out and expose yourself to the scary happenings in the real world on this haunted holiday, we have the perfect source of entertainment for a safe night in with lots of candy and popcorn. We’ve compiled a list of some of the spookiest K-dramas that are totally binge-worthy and are sure to have you hiding under the covers this Halloween!

  • Master’s Sun (2013)

In this horror-filled rom-com, Tae Gong Sil, played by It’s Okay That’s Love’s Gong Hyo Jin, gets into a car accident, catapulting her into a world in which she is able to see ghosts. She soon meets Joo Joong Won, played by Oh My Venus’s So Ji Sub, and discovers that when he touches her, her visions of ghosts disappear. It is through this spooky and heartfelt realization that their relationship begins, ensuring lots of laughs, tears, and screams from the audience!

  • White Christmas (2011)

This may be the most frightening show on this list, and that’s not just due to its incredible visuals and spooky themes. We’re talking about the setting of the series: a school! In this psychological thriller, a class of elite high schoolers is snowed in with one psychologist who happened to be passing by. As the students are incredibly stressed and competitive due to the nature of their academics, chaos quickly ensues—the show questioning whether evil is a naturally occurring phenomenon or if it is caused by the environment. Eek! Just thinking about that idea gives us the chills.

  • Save Me (2017)

In this spooky series starring 2PM’s Taecyeon, a family unknowingly gets roped into joining a cult in a suburban town outside of Seoul. The show follows their attempt to escape, their troubles in the town, and how their family copes with the terrifying and consuming messages of the cult’s strange leader. It is based on a webcomic entitled Out of the World by Jo Geum San and returned for a sequel season in the spring of 2019.

  • Nightmare Teacher (2016)

Nightmare Teacher (also titled Nightmare High) is a Viki original mini-series starring many of our favorite K-celebs including BTOB’s Minhyuk, CLC’s Yujin, and Baek Seungdo from popular drama It’s Okay, That’s Love. It follows a high school class’s experience with their mysterious and entrancing new homeroom teacher, who somehow is able to make their dreams come to life. What they often fail to understand, however, is that dreams can quickly turn into nightmares. This series is one that is absolutely binge-worthy and will have you on the edge of your seat!

  • Goblin (2016)

If you somehow made it past the craze that was the airing of Goblin a few years ago, then this Halloween is the perfect opportunity to make up for lost time! Train to Busan’s Gong Yoo stars as Kim Shin, an immortal “goblin” who is looking to find his true love in order to finally end his life. The show follows his journey as well as that of an extremely star-studded cast, including heartthrob Lee Dongwook, Cheese in the Trap’s Kim Goeun, My Love From the Star’s Yoo In Na, and BTOB’s Sungjae. This drama will have you glued to your screens and is the perfect way to spend this Halloween if you’re looking for a little more than just scares!

We hope these K-dramas serve you well this Halloween—we will also be sleeping with the lights on for the next few days, don’t worry! Which of these spooky shows are you too terrified to try out? Let us know in the comments below!
