ATEEZ Overflows with Charisma in First Japanese Mini Album 'TREASURE EP. Map to Answer'

After officially debuting in Japan a month ago with TREASURE EP. EXTRA: Shift the Map, ATEEZ has released their first Japanese mini album,TREASURE EP. Map to Answer. The mini album consists of six songs, including the Japanese version of their recent comeback “Answer” and remix versions of their popular songs such as “WONDERLAND,” “Sunrise,” and “Star 1117.” The album also introduces two new songs entitled “Declaration” and “Better.”

The group first hinted at the release of the Japanese mini album on January 15, taking ATINYs by surprise. The songs on the mini album showcase the group’s unique EDM vibe. The first song, “Declaration,” is a minute and twenty seconds long and primarily instrumental. Starting off with a piano background, it immediately transitions to the active use of beats. The second track is the Japanese version of their latest Korean comeback, “Answer.” The music video for the “Answer” was released two weeks before the release of the mini album, giving ATINYs a glimpse of what to expect.

“Better,” a chill EDM song, gives listeners colorful vocals accompanied by synthetic beats. The three remaining tracks are remix versions of the group’s previously-released tracks. SEAN OH’s Skrt Remix of “WONDERLAND” highlights the dark and robust techno vibe of the song. SPACECOWBOY’s atmospheric mix of “Sunrise” gives the chill ballad an electronic blend, a perfect song to end the day with. Lastly, BUDDY’s melodic mix of “Star 1117,” a contrast but balance to the strong beats the other songs give out. This remix of “Star 1117” gives the solid ballad a piano accompaniment, making the song perfect if you want a more sentimental feeling.

ATEEZ is an eight-member group under KQ Entertainment. The group debuted on October 24, 2018, with the tracks “Treasure” and “Pirate King.” The group immediately gained attention for their unique sound, which captivated listeners. But even before their debut, the group was known for their exceptional performance videos, which garnered millions of views and captured curious new fans of the new group.

TREASURE EP. Map to Answer comes in two versions: Type-A and Type-Z. The entire album is now available to be streamed at Spotify, and physical records are available at Japan retail stores. The group is set to have a fansign and launch event in Tokyo to celebrate the release of the new mini album.
